About us
We bring green energy to the water
BlueCharge was founded in 2024 with the mission of creating sustainable charging infrastructure for marinas and caravans and making it accessible on a large scale.
The idea was born at Boot Düsseldorf 2023 as a joint venture between teams of experts from the maritime industry and the car charging infrastructure.
Harald and Mats Kuhnle – family entrepreneurs and operators of the Kuhnle-Tours charter fleet, the Kuhnle shipyard and the round-trip and motorhome marinas – contribute extensive know-how and many years of experience in the water sports industry, particularly in terms of getting around on the water and operating marinas.
Hakan Ardic, partner and long-standing manager of the charging station operator “Wirelane” and Dirk Klein, manager responsible for the renowned energy self-sufficiency of the Hotel Haffhus Ueckermünde, contribute their special expertise in charging infrastructure and renewable energy concepts.
The joint project was born at the Boot Düsseldorf 2023 trade fair. Many shipyards have long since recognized the benefits of electric drives for their boats and yachts; they are more efficient, quieter and cleaner than conventional combustion engines.
However, the industry currently finds itself in a similar situation to the early days of e-drives on the road: suitable vehicles are available, market shares are growing, but charging infrastructure is required for comfortable and independent transportation.
BlueCharge wants to tackle this problem. By combining the know-how of two worlds, BlueCharge is able to offer charging infrastructure and energy advice that truly meets the needs of the industry.
